"I Don't Want To Suffer, I Just Want Other People To Suffer."

Hey friends! This week has been so good! Yesterday was freaking Easter lol and the subject line for this email comes from Elle Watson, she's the daughter of the family we live with (6th grade), and she and her brother did an Easter egg hunt for us (the cutest) and they hid the eggs frickin hard!! I definitely had to climb a tree. But yeah her mom asked her to get some of the eggs (cuz she's more agile than us lol), and that's when she's said that.  Haha she's a doll.

Anyway, wow it's been amazing here I absolutely LOVE Gales creek. It's another itty bitty town, but its absolutely gorgeous
Theres a cute little path by our house that we walk a lot and it feels like we're in a forest. Pics attached. Oh yeah, I don't have a car. My first walk bike area. Not that it matters, cuz we're quarantined, but it would be nice to drive to the coast.

Our bishop is AMAZING!! He's so concerned for us and he's so missionary minded and has given us people to teach and service activities to keep us busy! He posted on FB and texted a bunch of people and asked if we could give them a 10 - 15 min message on hope, and it was so successful!! We have started teaching just about 3 new people and we've had like 2 lessons a day!!! (That's a lot) I'm quarantined and yet this is the most effective I've felt as a missionary
And it's so cool cuz members can give us referrals from all over the world and were actually aloud to keep teaching them cuz the member trusted them to us. So it's really cool, this week we're gonna start wielding with people, in Ireland, Nevada, New Zealand, and Alabama! So that's really exciting.

Also we have a dog!!! Well, the members we live with have one, and I love her. Pics attached, lol.

Mmmm not much else to report. Things are awesome, I'm happy. Also, something kinda cool we've been doing is writing letters for less actives, homebounds, and people we're teaching. Sis Hair writes them and then I paint them! It's been a really good way to keep us busy and use our talents, so that's been really good.

Here's a quote I want to share with you guys:

"It is not without a recognition of life’s tempests but fully and directly because of them that I testify of God’s love and the Savior’s power to calm the storm. Always remember in that biblical story that He was out there on the water also, that He faced the worst of it right along with the newest and youngest and most fearful. Only one who has fought against those ominous waves is justified in telling us—as well as the sea—to “be still.” Only one who has taken the full brunt of such adversity could ever be justified in telling us in such times to “be of good cheer.”

Things are really crazy right now in the world but Jesus Christ is braving these storms right along side us. He will not abandon ship and neither should we. God is in control. He has the power to calm the storms around us as well as within us. He has done so with me and He can do so with you, so please have hope! You guys are amazing and God sees your struggles and your successes, as little as they may seem to you.

Love you all

Syd
