Unsolicited PDA
Interesting week, just a few highlights:
Tuesday- The senior couple in our district, the Williams, took us out to lunch then drove us to canby (which is like 2 hours away) for a doctor's appointment. So that took up like 5 hours but it was awesome, I LOVE the Williams
Then we saw John and Rebecca! (The couple who invited us to dinner) We were out finding and John drove by and honked at us and was like "Yo! Its freezing! You can stop by at our house to warm up!" So we did... and he seemed kinda surprised and slightly annoyed like yo if you're gonna invite the missionaries to your house then it's happening. #pranked
Wednesday- We started teaching a new person!! His name is DJ and he is a recent convert's (Christina) friend that is a boy (Read between the lines. Privacy laws. Gotta love em.) And so while we taught the first lesson he had Christina's kids, and the lil 2 yr old girl (Madi) climbed on to my lap (and that's a huge NO NO) and I just turned to sis Cloward, with probably a look of sheer terror on my face, and she said under breath "Push her off" I was like "I literally cannot do that" but I did cuz like, rules, I hate them
But she kept trying to snuggle me all throughout the lesson and I felt like Mike Wizowski with Boo! it was horrible! I just wanted to love her
Our last lesson was with a returning member named Ray, and we teach him every Wednesday, and he's hilarious! And so happy and always laughing despite the hardships hes faced. Hes amazing and I love him. He's like a 12 yr old in a 60 yr old body and I'm here for it. Hes like my dad away from dad. (Dont worry dad, nobody could EVER replace you)
Thursday we did service for a sweet gal named Diana for four hours. And I LOVE her! She said I could live with her after my mission. Shes not a member (yet) but she LOVES the missionaries!
We also had a lesson with Rob!!! And I gave him a painting for his family and it changed the whole atmosphere of the lesson ❤ It made his wife cry, so... yay? Lol. We also brought the Williams with us and they were EXACTLY what Rob needed. He accepted a BOM!! Which hes been struggling to do for forever!!
Friday we had district council, which was rather unproductive cuz the Williams weren't there and literally the entire district, myself included, has the attention span of a goldfish. So we definitely spent half the time discussing which disney characters everyone was. I'm Moana I guess? I dont see it .Me and sis Cloward agree that I'm Jane, lol, and shes Mulan. The rest of the district, so you can see the craziness, consists of:
-Fred and wasabi (big hero 6)
-Maui and Olaf
-Milo (Atlantis) and Crush (finding Nemo)
ANYWAY, pat yourself on the back for reading this far, This email is literally all fluff.
Saturday we had a lesson with Christina and Madi kept trying to sit on me again
We also had a member from a ward in Lebanon give us literally a truck full of food. The only reason she hasn't been translated is cuz the world would be destroyed w/o her.
And then Sunday, Ray gave me a hug, and we're technically not supposed to hug the opposite gender.... so lots of unsolicited PDA
But things have been really good!!
Here's a scripture I ran into today. It's kinda an eye opener. One of Satans greatest tools is distraction. Do you know how many times it says 'remember' in the BOM? Many. The pride cycle always starts with people forgetting the goodness of God. Its essential to our spiritual survival that we always remember what God has done for us.
Alma 5
"26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?"
Also this quote, which is such a roast to the world:
"I assure you that opposition to our cause testifies of its divinity. Would satanic powers combine against us if we were not posing a threat to such powers?"
Boom roasted. Thank you goodbye.
