Transfers!!

Image
Soooooooo my work in Willamina is done, for now at least. I was very sad to leave, there was wailing and gnashing of teeth. Not really, but there were a whole lot of tears. I kinda knew I was getting transferred. It was really hard to leave all the people I had come to love with my whole heart. It was like saying goodbye to my family again! And I'll miss Sharon's baptism, but that's okay because I know Brownsville, my new area, is where the Lord needs me right now.  But yoooo, Brownsville is straight out of a hallmark movie!! it's kinda the cutest in the whole world and the people here love the missionaries!! They're not interested in the gospel, but they love us. So my last week in Willamina, lol I don't even remember what happened except for one thing: Sharon went to a bible class where a preacher had been bashing her and giving her crap for reading the Book of Mormon for a long time. And she walked right in there, announced her baptism, then invited them all ...

For Julie

Hi mom!!! Can you forward this to Julie?? I dont think I have her email.  Hi Aunt Julie!!!! How are you doing? I absolutely LOVE your letters. I love how you did missionary work by talking about brewing beer! I think it counts though.  that's really cool about George, he sounds like a really cool man. I also love hearing Africans talk!! I love accents. Also, I forgot that uncle Ben served in Japan!!! That's so cool!! Have you been? I love Japanese culture, it's on my bucket list to visit Japan one day. I want to save up money after my mission and maybe take Summer there for her senior trip. She also really loves the culture there. Gosh I just love Summer. Do you remember when we were still just kids? Feels like so long ago. Anyway, I almost didn't go on my mission because of her (not in a bad way). I was not very kind to her growing up. Not at all. So naturally she used to be pretty defensive and standoffish towards me. But this whole past year before my mission, her an...

Slenderman

Image
Okay, guys, Oregon in the fog is literally the game Slenderman.... so spooky!!!!! But also kinda cool.  Anyway, we put Sharon on date!!!!!!!!!!!!! We took her to a baptism Saturday morning and she LOVED it!!! After the baptism, sharon told us she hoped the gal being baptized felt the spirit as strongly as she did. She started tearing up and telling us she needed to get baptized. It was so cool, she is so prepared. Her baptism is December 14th, if everything goes well. Gosh she is so cool.  We also started teaching a new person!!! Her name is Shandy so now all the people we are teaching have 'S' names, lol.  We also had Zone conference AND the new missionary hand book is out!!!!!!!!!! Its been an exciting week.  Also here's a quote from Pres Monson that kinda slapped me upside the head: “The greatest decision I ever made in my life was to give up something I dearly loved to the God I loved even more. He has never forgotten me for it.” I just LOVE that. Cuz you best be...

Grand Ronde, Why You So Extra?

Image
Okay so the reason for the title of this email: Grand Ronde is one of the small towns we're over and its absolutely gorgeous and is mostly just tress and green and "mountains" (they're really just hills, lol) and on one of the mountains theres a big smiley face made out of trees???? You can only see it in the fall. You'll understand when you see the picture.  ANYWAY awesome miracle this week!!!! The sweet lady we're teaching in the rest home is still cruising through the book of mormon; she started over like 10 days ago and is already in Alma??!!! but anyway, shes been studying the BOM for almost a month and , background info: shes had cancer for a LONG time. BUT, she recently got some tests done and she is now 100 PERCENT cancer free!!!! The tumor she had a couple weeks ago vanished, and the doctors can't explain it -- but we can. God is still a God of miracles!!!!! And me and Sis. Cozzens both had the strongest impression that God is blessing her because...
