Splittin Up The Dream Team
Soooooooo yeah we had transfers yesterday (which is why I'm emailing today) and sis Hair went over the mountain to Bend and it was the worst. There was screaming and wailing and gnashing of teeth. But whatever obviously I'm over it.
It was a hard day but also a good one cuz I got to go back to SALEM!!!!!! (technically my first area for like a week lol.) The Vernonia sisters (Johansson & Jorgenson) slept over sunday night. then we left super early monday morning to drop sis hair off in Salem. And then my heart died. So ma girls J&J took me to down town Salem and we got drinks and sat in the grass and just talked, which was really nice. Then we went to some cute shops and got Mediterranean food for lunch. So all was well in the end I guess. You meet some amazing people on the mish. Sis H, and the sister Js will FOREVER have my heart I freaking love them so much ❤❤❤ shout out to my girls.
Anyway, soooo I'm senior comp now in Gales Creek so now I get to DRIVE and I actually have a SIM card in my phone
My new comp is sis Mecham and shes amazing, we hit it off. It's only been one day but I think this will be a good transfer. It's her last so we gon' make it a good one
But it's been a good week. We made sure sis Hair ended with a bang
We went to Mcminnville to get our car fixed so we had some adventures there. We also are aloud back into member homes!!!!! so we had member dinners almost every night, which was really fun.
We also had a cute photo shoot with one of the members and it was BEAUTIFUL pics below.
Anyway, heres a lil spiritual thought sis Hair and I have been sharing with our people
We've been focusing a lot on feelings of inadequacy and how Christ takes whatever we have and works with it; creates miracles with it. We simply need to focus on God's strength rather than our weakness. I saw a Facebook post that describes this beautifully:
"It can be frustrating or even humiliating to have those crying in the car moments when we come face-to-face with our imperfections. But in those moments, we can also come face-to-face with our Savior.
As Elder Bruce C Hafen said, “If you’re seeing more of your weaknesses, that just might mean you’re moving nearer to God, not farther away.”"
And I would add one of my favorite quotes of all time:
"If for a while the harder you try, the harder it gets, take heart. So it has been with the best people who ever lived." -Jeffrey R. Holland
Anyway, love you
