RIP

First of all, we saw a drug bust. So... that was cool...
Kinda sad tho cuz the kids couldn't have been much older than me. Don't do drugs, y'all.

So, Coronavirus... that's cool too. We, the missionaries, are not quarantined as of yet, but we basically are cuz we cant touch people, stand close to people, or go in their houses. We also cant have any interaction with members whatsoever unless it's over technology. Oh yeah and church is canceled. Gods trying to tell us to do Come Follow Me, lol. We actually got to do it yesterday tho! Which actually was cool.
Guys, if you didn't have a testimony of Prophets before, then you best have one now, literally, pres Nelson said about a year ago to take your vitamins!! Also, when did Come Follow Me come out again? Hmmmmm interesting....
How long have we been told to do food storage? Long.
How blessed are we to have a modern prophet and apostles, who receive revelation and can warn us for the coming atrocities leading up to the second coming? (or as I call it, the Return of The King)
Also, bad things always seem to happen right before good things. And general conference is coming up so obviously Its gonna be awesome.

So the work has been rather slow this week (for obvious reasons). Mostly consisted of panicking, and aimless wandering. But Ashley is doing awesome with all of this!! Shes cruising through the BOM and still wants to get baptized!!

Anyway, not much else to report, lol.

But I had a thought this week. You know the million dollar question 'why do bad things happen to good people?'
Ya so I was reading in Alma, the part where the Anti-Nephi-Lehies are literally getting slaughtered cuz they refuse to fight. And I was like, "why would God let this happen? The only reason they're getting killed is cuz they made a covenant with God, shouldn't he be blessing them?" Well, He was. We know that they were righteous and therefore their souls were saved. Isn't salvation worth more than our earthly happiness? Which, needless to say, is only temporal? Whereas salvation is eternal. As I continued to read, I came across this verse:

"And there was not a wicked man slain among them; but there were more than a thousand brought to the knowledge of the truth; thus we see that the Lord worketh in many ways to the salvation of his people."

BOOM! Confirming my thoughts above. So why do bad things happen to good people? Because Gods ways are higher than ours. Because He knows what will lead us to salvation - and what will not. Because eternal salvation is more important than temporary earthly happiness. As Mama Cannon always says, this life is not the reward. People (myself included) seem to think that we are entitled to happiness, and that when something bad happens, it isn't fair, or we think God is punishing us. But we were sent here to experience not just joy, but, almost more importantly, pain. Joseph B Wirthlin states:

"Adversity can strengthen and refine us. As with the butterfly, adversity is necessary to build character in people. Even when we are called to sail through troubled waters, we need to know the place of adversity in shaping our divine potential."

Thanks, Joseph. And not only were the souls of those who were killed saved, but thousands of Lamanites were converted!

Anyway, sorry I just wrote a sacrament talk at y'all,  I've just been trying to answer this question for soooooo looooongggg. So, as always, GOD IS GOOD!

Love you people!!
