Cheers To Salmonella
First of all I DO NOT have salmonella... yet
But we definitely ate a bunch of cookie dough on new years eve and I definitely manhandled a lizard
ANYWAY.... just some things that happened this past week and a half-- first, last Saturday (the 28th) all the sisters in my district (4) had a sleepover with the STLs in Albany cuz long story short, our district leader and his comp both had a horrible feeling all day and felt that we weren't safe and that we shouldn't go back to our apartments. It was awesome. But yeah so we didn't stick around to find out why it was unsafe. Our whole district and zone leader sat at the church for like 2 HOURS trying to figure everything out. Finally president said to our whole district, just not to go back home tonight. Spooky, lol. So the elders had a sleepover too with the zone leader. It was a party, definently did not sleep at all
But yeah other than that the week started off really slow, and we have had no success in B-ville, especially on new year's day. I've never gotten a door slammed in my face, I just get very passive aggressive people basically telling me I'm dumb and they hate us, so that's good.
But yeah so by Thursday I was really discouraged cuz literally everyone knows the missionaries and no one wants to hear our message! Its so sad! I mean, it's no biggie, only their ETERNAL SALVATION. So Thursday night we went in and said a prayer cuz we were both just like ughghhhh, and I had a small promoting to go to Lebanon, so we did! And we met this golden gal named Maggie and she was so so kind to us!! And she talked to us fir a long time about God and how her nephew is a member. So we brought up the Book of Mormon, and she was like, " oh yeah well you cant have the bible without the BOM, like how you cant have the old testament without the new one." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maggie do you want to get baptized?????? Anyway, it was just really cool. She said we could come back and share a message with her, so stay tuned! Prayers for Maggie
Rob is doing good. We met with him on tuesday and he said he prayed about joseph smith and didn't get an answer. It wasn't a test but it wasn't a no either. So keep praying for Rob. We also had sushi with him and his family on Saturday, and it was... adventurous. I ate octopus
I also saw a hippie bus and it was AWESOME!!! It was just in one of the parking lots in town and it had like curtains and a sink and flowers, I'm here for it
We also had some SUNSHINE
(🎶 Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why you had to hide away for so long-- sooo looooongggg🎶)
Also, Brownsville has a legit saloon and we saw a huge biker gang of like 16 motorcycles there, so check that off the bucket list
TRANSFERS! I'm staying, but sister Goold is leaving me, but shes not going too far, shes actually going to be my sister training leader, so I'll see her at least twice this transfer ❤
Anyway, that's all I think. Love you!
Syd
